My paintings capture the energy and beauty of the natural environment. When I travel into the bush, I take graphite pencils, charcoal and a small palette of paints to record what I see and feel in my art journal. I collect sticks and bark from the landscape for mark making in my work on canvas.

In my studio, I take these smaller journal paintings and start to work them into larger paintings. Using automatic and rhythmic drawing I create intuitive, energetic and layered artworks that express what it felt like to be in that place.
